Prison inmates benefit from dental camp

An inmate of is getting treatment during held an Oral and Dental health camp at the Kohima District Jail on October 15.
 
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch, Kohima Unit, held an Oral and Dental health camp at the Kohima District Jail on October 15 for prison inmates.
An eight member team of dental surgeons and specialist led by President, Dr J Imtiwabang Pongener and Secretary, Dr Niesato Mero of the Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch, examined and treated the inmates for various dental ailments and conditions. Minor dental surgical procedures, extractions and restorative treatments were done during the camp. Free medicines along with free tooth brush and tooth paste were distributed to all the prisoners.
A short lecture on proper maintenance of Oral hygiene was also given and correct tooth bushing technique was also demonstrated. This camp was held as a part of the ongoing Community Oral Health program of the Association, during the month of October 2011 which will cover all the district prisons in the state.
