
Dimapur, May 22 (MExN): Project “AXSHAYA”, a tuberculosis (TB) project undertaken by the Catholic Health Association Of India (CHAI) funded by GFATM-RD9 was formally launched at Mon district by the Chief Medical Officer Dr. T. Kikon. The program was graced by the presence of health staffs from NRHM, DAPCU, ICTC & NGOs working on TB & HIV-AIDS.
Dr. Imyangluba Ao, DTO, Mon expressed his contentment by saying that the intervention of CHAI in Mon district to work on TB care & Control will definitely increase case detection & cure rate with the implementation of their schemes like sputum collection and transport, retrieval of initial defaulters and many other sensitization and training programs.
Peter Patton (DCO, Mon) briefed about the project and sought for cooperation and support from both ends for proper implementation and success of project “AXSHAYA”, as the primary objective of the project being enhancing the reach and visibility of RNTCP through Civil Society involvement & support’.
