PWA conducts clinical and technical orientation training

Phek, October 6 (MExN):  A Referee Clinic & Technical Orientation training for the members of Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) which is said to be the first of its kind was held at Phek Village Local ground on September 28.

A press release issued by PWA General Secretay, Vepichi Keyho stated that the training programme was held in view of the upcoming proposed pre-celebration of the Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) Golden Jubilee slated in the first part January.

It stated that the training was supervised by the Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board (NWRB) Convenor & former Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) Champion, Hukhoneyi Soho and was assisted by former NWA Open Wrestling Champion Surhoneyi Soho. NWA senior Recorder Kuzhovesa Soho also apprised the trainees of procedural terms of recording the tournament.

The day long training was imparted with all required technical aspects and conducted technical written test as well after the training.

PWA President, Thuputhiyi Venuh on behalf of the PWA in particular and the entire people of Phek in general lauded the NWRB Convenor & his teams for coming down to the Village level by providing all inputs. "This is one of the great major achievements in the history of PWA where the Association is viewed at large on moving towards to a higher ground", claimed Venuh. He further sought the unflinching support & cooperation of the entire Phek citizens to value training and mark it as a red letter day of the Association.

VCC Phek and members including the former PWA champions, several other prominent wrestlers, PWA officials, wrestling lovers attended the day long training. Altogether approximately 60 persons including trainees, officials & well wishers attended the day long training.
