DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27 (MExN): Mizoram trail Nagaland by 235 runs at stumps of day two of their Ranji Trophy encounter at the CCFC Ground in Kolkata.
Winning the toss, Nagaland chose to bat first and scored 243 runs before being bowled out in 83 overs.
Sedezhalie remained unbeaten at 105 runs as Nagaland’s highest scorer. Hokaito contributed 31 runs while Imliwati scored 27 runs and Nagaho scored 25 runs.
For Mizoram, G Lalbiakvela bagged 5 wickets while HM Ralte also had 2 scalps to his name.
Mizoram were at 8 runs without the loss of a single wicket in 5 overs of play till stumps on the first day.
Meanwhile, in the Womens Under-23 One Day Trophy, Sikkim defeated Nagaland by 23 runs.
Sikkim won the toss first and elected to bat first. They scored 168 runs in 50 overs courtesy 90 runs by Pinku and 22 runs by Songkit Lepcha.
For Nagaland, Merensola, Ayankita and Sariba took a couple of wickets each.
Nagaland were however unable to reach the target as they were bowled out for 145 runs in 46.5 overs. Ayantika was Nagaland’s highest scoerer with 29 runs followed by Tulika with 24 runs.
