KCSU president apologizes

Kohima, October 7 (MExN):
Dode Nakro, president, KCSU has made sincere apology to the Kohima Village Youth Organization for hurting their sentiments by being unresponsive to their genuine concerned and intervention in the case related to the incident on September 22,  at Kisama.

Tetso College mourns student demise

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN):
The students, teachers and staff of Tetso College have mourned the demise of Y Shongna Konyak, a class 12 student on October 5. In a condolence note, it stated that late Shongna will be remembered not only for bring a brilliant student with an excellent academic record but also for her significant contributions in student activities as a friend and assistant prayer secretary of the college’s Evangelical Union. The note also stated the Tetso College will be conducting a prayer assembly at 9:45 am on October 10. Also the class 12 Commerce & Arts Selection Examination scheduled on October 12 has been postponed to October 24. The rest of the routine remains unchanged.

NCTE-K awarded B grade

Kohima, October 7 (MExN):
The NAAC peer team visited the Nagaland College of teacher Education Kohima (NCTE-K) on 5 and 6 August and has been awarded B grade with CGPA of 2.52 on a four point scale. According to principal, Nagaland College of Teacher Education Kohima, he said that in its thirty-six years of service to education in the state, the college has been catering to the professional development of teachers (both in service and pre service) with a vision to provide ‘Quality education for all by preparing teachers to be competent human facilitators of learning, promoting research and extension service and providing leadership in the educational system’. The press release said that the vision has been considerably achieved as evident from the observations of the peer team adding that the strength of the college lie in the availability of good infrastructural facilities and resources-library and ICT facilities, use of varied methods and approaches to teaching-learning, sound student support and progression. However, the press note said, the institution requires to undertake research projects and faculty have been encouraged to strengthen their professional developmental activities. It said the assessment is valid for a period of 5 years
