Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): Reigning Miss Nagaland 2011, Hattinneng Hangsing appealed NSCN (IM) through a press release, for kind release of Asat Doungel, President, KIN. It was stated that as a peace loving citizens, it pained her to learn about that the President was under the control odd. Hattinneng Hangsing also sincerely requested NSCN (IM) to kindly uphold the assigned task of “Forgive and Forget” and pardon the KIN President for hurting the sentiments of NSCN (IM) in his pursuit of serving his tribesmen with full dedication and honesty.
Manipur Cop stabbed to death by own father
Imphal, November 19 (NNN): In a shocking incident, a sub-inspector of Manipur police department died after he was stabbed by his own father over a minor feud between them, a police source said Saturday. The victim was identified as Heikrujam Darwin Singh 30, a sub-inspector of State police department.The incident took place at Changaingei makha Leikai under Singjamei police station in Imphal West when his father Rajendro, 58 Stabbed him following a minor family feud yesterday night at around 9:30 at their residence. Darwin was rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital but succumbed to his injuries there at 1 am on November 19, 2011. Sources said Rajendro was in inebriated condition when the incident happened.
ZBN dismayed over abduction of President KIN
Dimapur, November 19, (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) expressed dismay over the abduction of Asat Doungel, President of the Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) by the NSCN-IM on the November 14, 2011 from Medziphema Town.ZBN has made an appeal to the collective leadership of the NSCN-IM for his safe and early release. The Press release appended by its General Secretary, Azeu Namcyn Hau stated that “things could have been amicably settled across the table; extortions, threats, kidnappings or abductions are not the answers especially at a time when we are yearning for peace”. We appeal for the safe and early release of Asat Doungel on humanitarian ground, it stated. Conveying sympathy to the Doungel family, the Zeliangrong Baudi prayed that the Almighty God gives them the faith to remain strong at this unfortunate hour of grief and dilemma.
AR Jawan found death under mysterious circumstances
Dimapur, November 19(MExN): In an unrelated incident, a jawan of 35 Assam rifles posted at Shajik Tampak under Chakpikarong police station in Chandel district was found death under mysterious circumstances on November 18 at 6 am. The deceased has been identified as Kavindra Chaudhary 38 from Bihar. Police sources said a bullet penetrated on the back of his head. It was not immediately confirmed whether it was a suicide case or murder. A case has been registered at the Chakpikarong police station regarding the incident.
BSF nabs Ulfa 'linkman'
SHILLONG, November 19 (TNN): Acting on specific inputs, troops of border outpost Purakhasia, Ex-114 Battalion BSF deployed in the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi national working as an Ulfa 'linkman' in the early hours of Friday. "He was nabbed near border post 1099/M while he was trying to infiltrate into India," said a spokesperson at the Assam and Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters of the BSF here. The apprehended person was identified as Prominson Sangma (25) of Nockhi village in Sherpur district of Bangladesh.
