Ar apprehends one Ug cadre

Dimapur, November 20 (MExN):
Discovering the movement of UG cadres in general area Salungpham Mamang Leikai of Thoubal district, troops of 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended one PLA cadre on 20 Nov 2011. The apprehendee was identified as No. 501 SS Sgt Sarangthem Shayamchand Singh alias Sanahai, 43 yrs, s/o Late Chaoba Singh,r/o Salunpham Mamang Leikai. 01x9 mm Pistol with magazine and 01x live round was recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recoveries were handed over to Thoubal Police station.

AR organizes medical and blood donation camps

Dimapur, November 20 (MExN):
A team of Medical  officers and paramedical staff of 22 GRENADIERS 26  Sector under HQ IGAR(South) organized a medical camp  at Phaisanjang  village of Chandel district  on 19 Nov 2011. More than 130 patients from Phaisanjang and adjoining   areas were diagnosed and provided medicines. An interactive session was also organised with the villagers and they were educated about various diseases including AIDS, Dental problems, malaria and precautionary measures. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the unit for the humanitarian service.
In another occasion, 18 SIKH of 9 sector under HQ IGAR (South) organized a blood donation camp at Wangoi Higher Secondary School on 19 Nov 11.50 persons were donated the blood in the camp.

BSF & Customs apprehended Indian smugglers

Dimapur, November 20 (MExN):
In another incident, a Joint Operation of the BSF and along with Customs was carried out in Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya yesterday, BSF Sources said here today.
 During the operation, the party intercepted one Tata Turbo truck at Sonapur Bridge near Umkiang in Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya loaded with Two Indian smugglers - Md Suleman Ali and Md Saluuddin, who hailed North Tripura were apprehended along with the vehicle. Besides above, 5 mobile sets and Indian currency Rs. 8070 was also recovered from their possession.  The estimated cost of the seized items along with Truck is worth RS. 42, 50,000.The syrup was meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh. The apprehended Indian nationals with seized items have been handed over to Custom Department for further legal action as per Law of the Land.
In another incident BSF troops deployed in East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya yesterday seized 21 nos of cattle worth Rupees 4, 40,000 while these cattle were being smuggled out to Bangladesh. The smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and rugged terrain. Seized cattle have been handed over to Custom Department for further action, the sources added.
 
Chiechama village council annual meet

Kohima, November 20 (MExN):
The annual meeting of the Chiechama Village Council will be held on November 26 at 10:00 am at Chiechama Village Council Hall. In this connection, all the Village Council office bearers, VCMs, GBs, VDB members, and the office bearers of all subordinate bodies under the Village Council have been requested to make convenient to attend the said meeting without fail.
