One arrested
Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): In a tip off the excise narcotic check gate duty party at Newfield Dimapur seized 1440 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and arrested one person. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody booked under the relevant section of Drug & Cosmetic Act 1940.
NEPCA general meet on Dec 10
Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The North East Psychological Counsellors Association (NEPCA) is holding its annual general meeting on December 10 at NERIE, NCERT, Nomrim Hills, Shillong. In this connection, all the certified counsellors working in North East region have been invited to the meeting to deliberate some of the most relevant issues pertaining to counselling service as profession and to adopt constitution and professional code of ethics for counsellors and to conduct general election of office bearers of the Association. Members have also been requested to bring any agenda to the meeting for its deliberation, according to a release issued by Zavise Rume, president NEPCA.
ZVSU44th general session from Dec 28
Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The 44th general session Zanger Village Students’ Union (ZVSU) will be held from December 28 to 30 at the Council Hall from 10:00am and on the theme “Heralding New Dawn”.
Tsanthong Dy, Commandant Nagaland Village Guard and Simon K. Allen, Pastor ZBB will grace the occasion as the chief guest & speaker respectively. ZVSU Info Publicity Secretary Anthony S in a press release has asked as all the executives to reach the village latest by December 15 and the bonafide members are mandatory to attend the session formal.
Further the Union has asked all its college students to submit attested photocopies of mark sheet and admit card of the last examination taken to the unions’ office before the commencement of the session. The Union also extended invitation to village elders, former president in neighboring village to attend the inaugural programme .
Mopungchuket Christmas Planning meeting on Dec 10
Dimapur, December 3 (MExN):The second meeting of the 2012 Christmas feast of Mopungchuket village Planning Committee members and leaders of Sub-committee will be held at 10 am on December 10, 2001 at the residence of Mr & Mrs Benjongyapang Aier, Treasurer Medemsanger Telongjem Dimapur, ADC Court colony. All the leaders of the sub-committee have been requested to present their respective assigned works in the meeting. This was informed in a press note issued by A. Temjen Jamir and I. Tajenlemba Aier, Convener and Secretary respectively of the Planning Committee.
Be proactive in fight against HIV/AIDS
Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): Network of Positive Phek District Network of Positive (PNP+) with District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Phek observed the World AIDS Days with the rest of the world at Chozuba Town (Vamuzo Memorial Hall) which was attended by all section of people, mostly Students. Resource person were Temsunaro, ADC Chozuba Town and Vethihulu Demo, SMO CHC, Chozuba. Both challenged the gathering to be proactive in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Pulio, shared about his positive living and urged the gathering to made the society an enabling environment for those infected/affected with HIV/AIDS. A moment of silence was observed in memory of those who have died of HIV/AIDS. After the program, Voluntary HIV Testing was done by the Mobile ICTC Unit, Phek.
Social awareness rally on AIDS
Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The Bridge of Hope, Railway (Master) colony organized a social awareness rally on December 1 to observe the World Aids Day with the theme “Getting to Zero” along with rest of the world. A press note issued by Bridge of Hope, Program Coordinator Namjinbou Pamai informed that the resource person for the occasion was Darshim Saka Executive Board Member Network of Naga People living with Aids (NNP+) based at Dimapur, Nagaland. Altogether 145 school children took part in the rally along with the parent .Then a small gathering was held at Kuda village D khel where invocation prayer was given by Pastor Shonka Konyak of Believers church and then Darshim Saka spoke on the methods of prevention, treatment, fighting the social discrimination and stigma related with Aids.
