Champion of the KKTWA wrestling meet Reka Mero with others

The 27th wrestling meet 2020 of Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Wrestling Association (KKTWA) took place on January 6 last at Pfutsero Sports Complex.
Reka Mero emerged the champion and pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 jointly sponsored by Rewelhi Kronu, additional director Directorate of Economics & Statistics and KKTWA.
Wetilo Wetsah stood second position and was awarded with Rs. 50,000 sponsored by Er. Visakho Therie, EE (Power) Kohima.
D Pfucupe Koza and Kadalo Kapfo stood 3rd and 4th positions and received Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000 sponsored by Daniel Kevie Koza, SDO (PWD) Pfutsero and Kelhikha Kenye, Assistant Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland respectively.
In the under 16 year category, Phrupe Lomi, Rhupe Losou, Mesekhro Mero and Lhiprezo Mero stood 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
Earlier, Nagaland Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Neiba Kronu graced the occasion as the guest speaker.
With the onset of the new year, Kronu called upon the people to forgive one another and erase past misdeeds if any and march ahead with positive mindset.
He also called upon the people to come together as one united people for peace and development.
Kronu advised the wrestlers to maintain discipline and take a proper diet to keep fit as sportsmen.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by KKTWA president Wezhepe Wetsa while the inaugural function was chaired by Nyitso Therie.
