RPSF constable awarded for exemplary courage

Maligaon, December 27 (MExN): In a ceremony held at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi on December 26, The Director General of the Railway Protection Force, Manoj Yadava, felicitated Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) Constables Kuldeep, Rajesh Saini and Shivraj for their exemplary courage and quick response during a tragic incident near Rail Bhawan on Christmas Day. 

Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR in a press release said that on December 25 at approximately 3:15 PM, in front of the Parliament Gate near the roundabout, close to the Rail Bhawan building in New Delhi, a man aged 30, set himself on fire near the park in the roundabout. When engulfed in flames, he ran towards the Parliament area. On noticing the incident, the on duty, RPSF Constables stationed at Gate no. 6 of Rail Bhawan immediately sprang into action with remarkable presence of mind. They utilized two blankets available at the gate to extinguish the flames, with assistance from nearby pedestrians.  Their quick response minimized risks to bystanders and prevented the situation from escalating further. The injured man, suffered severe burns and was promptly attended by police authorities, including the SHO/Kartavya Path who arrived at the scene with their team. Later the victim was admitted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for further medical treatment.
