Kohima, September 6 (MExN): A six-day Hindi Creative Writing Camp aimed at promoting creative expression and innovative writing among youth from non-Hindi speaking regions concluded on Saturday at the Kohima campus of Nagaland University.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Department of Hindi, Nagaland University, and the Central Hindi Directorate under the Union Ministry of Education. The valedictory session was held at the Conference Hall of the university's Department of Hindi.
The six-day event brought together participants from five states—Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland. Throughout the camp, domain experts introduced attendees to diverse dimensions of contemporary Hindi literature and helped them hone their creative writing skills across varied forms of expression.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University (Kohima Campus), highlighted the importance of promoting the Hindi language and encouraging creative writing in the region. Sarita Yadav, IAS, Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
Prof. Hitendra Kumar Mishra, Director of the Central Hindi Directorate, addressed the session as the Special Guest, while Natthulal, Assistant Director of the Directorate, shared key takeaways and highlighted the achievements of the six-day camp. Experts at the event underscored the continuous need to encourage the study, writing, and creative use of Hindi across non-Hindi speaking areas.
The valedictory programme was presided over by Dr. Munni Chaudhary, Head of the Department of Hindi, Nagaland University. Research scholar Nainung Nonang compered the ceremony, Ajay Suba delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Assistant Professor and Camp Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
