Training on value addition of horticulture crops held at the training hall of District Horticulture Office, Kiphire on April 4.
Kiphire, April 4 (MExN): A total of 50 students from Agape Higher Secondary School and Zisaji Presidency Government College, Kiphire attended the two-day training on value addition of horticulture crops on April 4.
The programme held at the training hall of District Horticulture Office, Kiphire was graced by Nitile Tep, NCS, EAC (HQ) as special guest. Speaking at the inaugural programme, Tep appreciated the department for creating a platform for where knowledge could be transferred to the young minds in the district. Emphasizing on sustainability and employability, Tep appealed to the participants to pay special attention and get equipped to pass on the learning process as well.
She also added that there are lot of opportunities and schemes available under that sector and urged the students to grab them.
Niulu Meyo, Asst Labour Commissioner welcomed the gathering. Senti Longchar, DHO highlighted the main objective and also thanked the CIH Medziphema for sponsoring the programme. Tsarose, OC Fire and Emergency Services delivered the vote of thanks.
Technical session conducted by Esther Sangtam, Linsi SHG, Anatongre on Importance and Scope: Value Addition of Horticulture crops with special emphasis of Kiphire district, Untapped Horticulture crops of Nagaland and its economic value by KVK Kiphire and Hands on Training and Demo The day-two of the training will be held on April 5 in the same venue for another 50 participants from Loyala Higher Secondary School and GHSS Kiphire.
