Sovima, April 3 (MExN): The Supernova Cricket Club on April 2 beat Guwahati & Veritas Group Northeast in the final to lift the 3rd edition of Sovima T20 Cricket Gold Cup at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
After winning the toss, Supernova opted to field and restricted Veritas to 154/7 in allotted 20 overs.
Supernova reached the target with 4 wickets in hand, to win the tournament.
Vivek Singh of Supernova was declared the ‘Best Batsman’ while the credit for best bowler went to Om Prakash Chauhan of Highlanders CC Chumoukedima.
Wasiqur Rahman of Veritas was adjudged the ‘Best Wicket Keeper.’ The final match was graced by Dr Tolto Metha.
In a press release, the organising committee expressed its gratitude Nagaland Cricket Association, Dimapur District Cricket Association, Sovima Village Council, Minister for Public Health and Engineering Jacob Zhimomi as well as the sponsors, well-wishers and the participating teams for their support in making the tournament a success.
