TC not to forge alliance with other political parties

Imphal, November 19 : With the election campaign season kick starting in the state of Manipur, the Trinamool Congress (TC) on Saturday announced that the party would not forge alliance with other political parties for the forthcoming polls to the 10th Manipur Assembly.
This was made public by Trinamool Congress leader and Union minister for shipping, Mokul Roy while briefing to journalists after a meeting of the party executive members here.
The union minister accompanied by party’s leader K .D. Singh, N-E region in-charge touched down in imphal at 10:30 Saturday on a one-day visit to the state.
Mokul Roy flanked by K .D. Singh informed that the party would put up one candidate each for the 60 Assembly constituencies of Manipur to fight the coming polls expecting February next year and he also expressed high hope that TC would definitely bring change in the state after the general elections.
Expressing tough stand on the integrity of Manipur, Mokul said Trinamool Congress will always maintain the territorial integrity of state and will never allow disintegrating it.
He also expressed confidence that the party will bring a good government in the state where there will be no economic blockade, bandh, agitation and all after the general elections 2012.
Asked about what will the party do to  help the grief of the people of Manipur due to the 111-day- long economic blockade on national highways, mokul Roy and K .D. Singh said they will definitely raise the issue of the state in the coming winter session of the Parliament.
“Our party is quite different from other political parties” said the two leaders in one tone when reporters asked that political parties come and go after giving their assurances and promises but nothing happened despite their words.
The two Trinamool Congress leaders, who visited the state to re-organize the state Ttrinamool Congress,  left Imphal this afternoon after attending a public meeting at Yumnam Leikai here.
