Training on routine immunization conducted

Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): Health workers training on routine immunization was held at Chief Medical Office. Health workers and IEC staffs of the District attended the training.
Kiphire CMO office, Media Officer, Pezanguno Celine Secü in a press release said that Dr. I. Sungit Jamir, CMO Kiphire exhorted the trainers to be sincere in their duties with special attention to immunization since this being the backbone of the health care delivery system.  Dr. Kibang, DIO Kiphire who was the resource person for the training started with a quick recap of routine immunization schedule, inclusion of Hepatitis B vaccination for infants in routine immunization, its prevalence, incidence and the disease with its outcome was explained in detail to the trainees.
All the health units of the District were instructed to prepare a map of the area covered by the respective health unit to be displayed in each centre. DIO Kiphire also stressed on the importance of mother and child tracking system, timely reporting of reports, to indent the vaccines as per the demand so as to reduce the wastage factors. Since the present working system of quantity of vaccines supplied exceeds the reports of the number of children immunized and so this needs to be streamlined. The importance of second doze of measles in routine immunization to be started after few months was informed.
Prompt reporting on incidence of AFP and AEFI cases. In conclusion he thanked all the health workers for their dedication and sincere service rendered during the MCUP-2 campaign in the Districts. This was followed by a group discussion with good response from the trainees.
