Echoing back the (positive) meaning of those John Milton’s words, ‘Its better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven’, were just out from your eyes as when you saw that something is not so well there… As you turned around your feet from lucrative offices to educating the younger minds, to drawing the hearts of every soul to the right path, to upliftment of every soul, be it Angami, Sumi….or the Maos. To this, often you’d say, “I’ve done my part, I’ve rendered my service to the Govt. in whatever little or big ways I could and retired gratefully. Now, I have something left to do…I owed to my people and I will give my best whatever possible I can in the remaining days of my life”. Touched by those living breaths of your words, we know you would accomplish it as you’ve done it, come what may-there’s your discipline, your prayers, your courage, your determination and your support! To find yet hard to get another person like you, to preach yet so determined and proven, to love yet so caring and ready to give everything…
You were not a blind poet of Milton who so wished to serve yet consoled, you were born to show and to lead….yet a bit too early to reap? Had it not be the fall from the three storey building, for sure you would have been doing for a nobl’r cause and still your people watching at you as one of the stars up in the skies!
May your spirit rest in peace and never cease to guide us even from the abode of Heavn’ly bliss …..
