Tuensang, November 17 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Tuensang DPDB for the month of November 2011 was held at the Conference Hall of DC Tuensang under the chairmanship of DC and Vice Chairman, T. Mhabemo Yanthan on November 15.
At the outset the chairman welcomed the Board members followed by SDO (C), Sushil Kumar Patel IAS presentation on the programme entitled “HELLO DC” which was a novel programme of district administration on good governance, transparency and easy accessibility of district administration through phone/mobile including SMS for speech redressal of public grievances. He said that through this programme any member of public could enquire about any departmental activities or any complaints over phone from DC office.
Land Resources department, Irrigation and Flood Control department, Fisheries department and Soil and Water Conservation gave a power point presentation on their Departmental activities as entrusted in the last DPDB meeting.
The meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes where the construction of protection wall at officers sector, police line, Tuensang was discussed and the Board decided to write to the Urban Development department Tuensang for further necessary action. Creation of New RD Block at Mangko under Shamator sub-division was also brought up again where the Board resolved to recommend it to the concern department. In regard with the opening of Officers Club at Tuensang town, the district administration sought for more time therefore the Board decided to defer it to the next meeting. In connection to the excessive speed breakers on NH 202, the EE PWD (R&B) said that speed breakers on National Highways are not allot under certain rules and further said that the matter was best known to the incharge of NH division. It may also be mentioned that complain on unauthorised erection of speed breakers was brought earlier to the notice of the DPDB Tuensang. The DC Tuensang has therefore assured the Board members that district administration will issue circular to all concern villages in this connection.
The following agenda were also discussed in the meeting: The Board decided to recommend for the construction of retaining wall at District Cultural Office building Tuensang to the concern department as the proposal is for protection of DCO office. The District Cultural Officer was entrusted to prepare a proposal with technical estimation and submit it to the concern authority at the earliest.
Construction of New Agri Link Road from 0 point to Mushaba Pine Apple Project (Litem village), the SDO (C) Noksen highlighted the importance basing on the economic needs of the said link road where the Board decided to recommend it to the concerned department. The Board also agreed to recommend for financial assistance for repair and renovation of old DB court, Noksen and for conversion into Additional Guest House to the CAWD for necessary action. For construction of bridge between Noksen Hq. and Yimrup village via Dikhu river, SDO (c) Noksen also highlighted the need and facility of the bridge where the Board decided to write it to PWD R&B for the construction. Grant-in-aid to Chang Literature board was also discussed and the Board recommended it to the Principal Director School Education.
The meeting was also addressed by visiting official from NACO, Dr. Rajan IAS Team Leader National Technical Support Unit, NACO Delhi. Dr. Rajan also gave a presentation on the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the state and appealed to the officers of the district to create mass awareness to prevent the spread of this disease.
The Deputy Commissioner thanked the various dignitaries and also appealed to the members of the board especially the people concerned to fight against HIV/AIDS and to bring down the percentage of the population of People Living with HIV/AIDS and its grievances in the district. The meeting was adjourned with vote of thanks from the Chair.
