UKHRUL, December 23 (NNN): Ukhrul denizens bid a tearful adiu to the departed soul of Lt. Ngahanyui Peter Chiphang (IPS), Manipur state Director General of Police (DGP) Official on Special Duty (OSD) Home at his funeral service held at Ukhrul (Hunphun) Awontang a birth place home of the Highest rank Police Officer who breathed his last breathe on December21 last at 6:40 am at his Official residence Imphal Mantri-Pukhari following aprolonged illness.
Thousands of people including the Tangkhul Frontal Organizational representatives like Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Tangkhul Students' Organization, All Naga Students' Union Manipur (ANSAM), Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL) Tangkhul Chiefs' Association, Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA), Hunphun Katamnao Long, HKL ( Ukhrul Students' Union), Hunphun Shanao Long, HSL (Hunphun Women's League), Tangkhul Employee and Professinal Association and many more others condoled the untimely demise of the Late C. Peter and marked the day the most sorrowful day as the lost soul of the High rank Officer created a wide vacuum in the Society of the people especially a great lost for the community of the Tangkhul Naga Society.
Late Peter Ngahanyui Chiphang S/O C.Paul Yuishi of Ukhrul Awontang was born on 12th Feb. 1952, he was the first Manipur Naga 1975 IPS Cadre who was appointed as a SDPO Chandel in 1978-79, took SP of Tamenglong in 1980-81, CO 1st Manipur Riffles during 1981`-82, AIGP (Ops) in 1982, CO 2nd Bn MR from 1983-84, SP CID (CB) in 1984, Special Official Intelligence from 1984-85, as CO Home gaurd in 1985-86, SP Bishnupur in1986, SP. CMTW from 1986-87. Dy. Residential Commissioner, Delhi from 1987-89, DIGP(training) 1990. DIGP (Adm) from 1994, IGP from 1995--96, he was holding as Managing Director MPHC in 1993 DIGP (Adm) in1994, IGP9Adm from 1995-96, Additional DGP from 17thh-9-98 till his last breathe, he was also the Chief Security Commissioner RPF Guwahati on deputation.
