Nagaland fall to stunning bowling from Meghalaya’s Nirdesh

 

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 6 (MExN): The first day of the Vijay Merchant Trophy test match between Nagaland and Meghalaya was played today at Tezpur, Assam. 


Nagaland won the toss and elected to bat first managing to score 113 runs before being bowled out in their first innings within 42 overs. Sravan with 55 runs and Keduowhetuo with 20 runs were Nagaland’s top scorers. 


For Meghalaya, Nirdesh came up with a spectacular performance taking all 10 wickets of the innings. 


Meghalaya, in their first innings, meanwhile were at 109 for the loss of 4 wickets in 46 overs at stumps. 


Nirdesh with 68 runs and Ayushman with 24 runs were the top scorers. 


Among the Nagaland bowlers, Sravan had taken 2 wickets, followed by Keduowhetuo and Sujal with one wicket each.
