Dimapur, September 12 (MExN): A talent engagement initiative by global apparel major UNIQLO in Nagaland has resulted in the selection of 41 young candidates for retail positions with the brand.

The initiative, which began as an opportunity for students to experience UNIQLO, connected with more than 450 students from various colleges and institutes across the state during the 'UNIQLO Xperience Day' held on August 21.

The Xperience Day introduced students to the company beyond its products through interactive sessions, a company presentation and addresses by Yuichiro Kaneko, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO India, and Abu Metha, Chairman of IDAN.

Participants explored LifeWear products through the UNIQLO Xperience Zone, learned about the technology behind them and interacted with UNIQLO employees from the Northeast. The event also gave students an insight into UNIQLO's Japanese work culture, work-life environment and workplace values, along with a giveaway session featuring the brand's merchandise.

The interest generated at the Xperience Day translated into strong participation in the recruitment process, with a Hiring Day held on September 11 drawing more than 130 registrations. Over 90 candidates appeared for interviews, following which 41 were selected to join UNIQLO's retail team, stated an update.
