UKHRUL / November 29 : General Secretary Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Victor Keishing, while speaking on the occasion of the “One day Units Political Conference” of Ukhrul Chingai Block Congress Committee as the chief Guest today at Ukhrul Mini Secretariat Multi-Purpose Hall stated that “The Congress party is the only true grass root-level foundation Party”
The Conference of the Ukhrul District Congress Party workers consisted of the Block units Presidents, Secretaries, leaders of both the Students’ and Mahila leaders and party workers from Chingai Block. The five categorized frontiers in the Congress Party Cells namely, the Youth, Mahila, NSUI, Sevatal and INTUC are the basic enormous cells in units like Kishan Khed, Schedule tribe labour, public grievances, Panchayati Raj, OBC, medical, legal, doctors, media cells etc, the Chief guest said.
Keishing further lamented that Congress party is also only the one that looks into the needs of the poor. The developmental achievements of the UPA regime like MGNREGS, Old age pension, Ananwadi workers etc reached the weakest section of the people and under Right to Education, the UPA Government provides free and compulsory Education, free text books and free Uniforms provided to poor students. The Chief Guest also said that the people shouldbe thankful to UPA Govt. He also urged the Ukhrul people concern especially the youths to enroll in the party.
A.Aza, a former Congress Minister also one of the eldest active Congress leader in Chingai Block as the Guest of honor in the occasion appealed all party workers not to confuse in the propaganda concerning the award of the Congress ticket.But rather, he called-upon all the party members to remain united in trying to strengthen the party as the time is not for awarding tickets nor for election code of conducts but the time for to wait when the concern party leaders decide the fate of tickets and others.
