DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 13 (MExN): Unity Christian Higher Secondary School, Diphupar-Chumoukedima, hosted its 13th Annual Volleyball Tournament for 2024, under the theme ‘Rise and Leave a Legacy.’ The tournament, which brought together nine teams with creative Indian movie-inspired names, celebrated sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit.
Veni Vese (NPS), Additional DCP of Chumoukedima, graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest, while members of the Diphupar Village Council attended as special guests. The program began with an invocation by Arhoni Ovung, followed by a welcome address from the school’s principal, Dr. Saza Lucy. Vese, in his speech, encouraged the students to embody the theme by excelling not just in sports but in all facets of life.
The tournament featured intense matches, with the boys’ team KGF clinching the championship title and the girls’ team Dabang emerging victorious in their category. Dabang also received the award for Best Discipline, while the Baahubali team won the accolade for Best Decoration, and Uri secured recognition for the Best Anthem.
The closing ceremony, hosted by Avelu Ruho, concluded the event.
