New Delhi, February 9 (MExN): Unity Utsav 2.0 began at Delhi Cantonment on February 9, marking the second consecutive year of the sporting event following its inaugural edition.
A press release from the NFR said that more than 1,000 students from eight northeastern states, who are currently pursuing their education in Delhi, are participating in the event. The Utsav aims to provide a platform for students from the North East to participate in organised sports and engage in competitive activities.

The multi-sport tournament includes competitions in football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and basketball. Events are being conducted for both men and women.
Organisers said the event seeks to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship and healthy competition among participants. It is also intended to encourage interaction and engagement among students from different northeastern states studying in the national capital.

Beyond the sporting competitions, Unity Utsav 2.0 is positioned as an initiative to strengthen inter-state interaction and cultural bonding. “By bringing together students from multiple states at a single venue, the event focuses on fostering a sense of shared identity and national integration while highlighting the diversity of the North East,” the NFR said in its press release.
Unity Utsav 2.0 will continue with scheduled matches across disciplines over the course of the tournament.
