Kiphire, May 17 (MExN): As the nationwide lockdown is having a huge impact on business community and on the lives of daily wage labourers, the United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) has urged landlords and house owners to waive off house rent during this lockdown period so as to mitigate the hardship cause by the lockdown.
In a press release, T Seopi Sangtam, President USLP said that the present circumstances calls for a considerate and compassionate action from the part of everyone and “as such it is our responsibility to care for each other in such a unique situation we are facing today confronts humanity.”
The USLP urged landlords and house owners in Kiphire district, Longkhim-Chare Zone and Tuensang town to consider the condition of the tenants and waive off house rent in whatever way possible on humanitarian ground.
