The Wall of Separation

Iniquities and impurities are the vices which hinders us from moving forward in Christ. The spiritual growth of a believer is as important as food is to the body. Our every act conveys the message to the world of what we really are. We are what we are because we chose to live by faith.
In our quest for justice and truth, we tend to succumb to the enticements of the world. This is further evidenced in the statement of Paul when he said “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do., but what I hate to do. Romans 7:15. In reference to his own question he writes “Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. V20
This is exactly the condition which many believers are in. they chose to live by faith but they end up living in sin. In view of this the Bible commands us to submit to His will and commit our lives to Him. Knowing that it is not easy to overcome the world on our own, He sent His Spirit of truth to be our comforter, our guide and our teacher. However we tend to go astray which as a result affects our relationship with God. Our every acts of sin creates a barrier between us and God. The good relationship we once shared with Him turns sour when our thoughts are not in harmony with His Word.
Sinning is as easy as falling in love with someone. The good ones turns bad when the evil in them controls them from within. It is in the nature of everyone to give in to the desires of the flesh. No matter how good a person may be, it is likely that they may fall into the tempter’s snare when they fail to live by the Spirit.
Inspite of our desire to live a righteous life, the sins of the world often gets the better of us. The world we live in is hostile to all that is good. And we should know better of what we really are. But at times we do the very things which God forbids us to do. We fall prey to the lures of the evil one when our desires are that of the world.
In the past when I was lost in my sins, my heart was troubled from within. I was far away from the Lord and I knew that my every acts of sin worsened my stance in Christ. I was troubled because I couldn’t live with the sin in me. It was a very difficult phase of my spiritual journey and I knew that if I am to get what I want, I had to do away with sin. I was captured by the very forces whom I was against. I prayed for answers and I pleaded for mercy but my situation only worsened. And finally I decided to console myself by reading the Word. And the first page I opened was Isaiah 59:2,3. This happened on more than five occasions in the preceding days. And it came to my realization that confession was the need of the hour. In my desperation I cried out to the Lord and He finally answered me.
I became my own enemy. I created my own barriers. And I became a slave to my own enemy. It was the most distressing moment of my life. But I felt my burdens were being lifted the moment I started mending my ways. The wall of separation was what I built and it was what I needed to demolish. Our live becomes much better when our relationship with God is good. It is for us to renew our relationship with God that our stance in Christ can be strengthened. Let us live by the spirit and we will not fulfill the desires of the sinful nature. (Galatians 5:15). It is not easy and it never will be. But we as the Church of Christ should be in a good relationship with Christ. It should be our priority that our identity in Christ be renewed. Let us join hand in demolishing these walls of separation that we can be liberated with God. God is there for us and He will help us if we only try.
