WCYO’s 27th Biennial Sport's Meet underway

Jalukie Zangdi, January 7 (MExN): The 27th Biennial Sport's Meet of the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation' (WCYO) got underway at Jalukie Zangdi n January 6 with Nagaland’s Power & Parliamentary Affairs minister K. G. Kenye as the Special Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kenye expounded on the importance of unity amongst the Chakhesang community stating “'where there is unity, there is victory.”

He also emphasized on putting God first as it is only through His grace, one can experience breakthrough and victory.

Stating that our forefathers have indeed, encountered fierce competition to build a strong community in the western areas, the Minister further stated that fostering peace and upholding communal harmony with the neighbouring villages from other communities is a must for further peaceful coexistence and healthier progress.

He also underscored unity amongst the community as a crucial factor for building good leadership while adding, "forfeiting unity can lead to our downfall."

"The presence of peace and unity amongst our community is the way to move forward and excel beyond," he stated, while encouraging the Chakhesang community in the Western areas to be ambassadors of the same unique traits.

The Minister also appreciated the WCYO for successfully organising the 27th Biennial Sport's Meet, and further asserted that there are many scopes in sporting avenues if one is committed enough.

He further affirmed that winning is not the ultimate goal but participating with good team spirit should become a priority as it can lay the foundation to scale greater heights,”'where the sky is the only limit.”

WCYO president Wekupe Therie delivered welcome address while Phek District Sports Association president Nezosa Tetseo delivered greeting message.

Bedusai Thuluo, VCC of Jalukie Zangdi and Dr. Chisoi Khusoh, President of Western Chakhesang Hoho also spoke at the programme.
The Meet will conclude on January 11 with NPF Legislature Party leader Kuzholuzo ( Azo) Nienu as the Guest of Honor for the Closing Ceremony.
