WDF handed over to project villages under Tuensang district

Tuensang, November 12 (MExN): The Department of Land Resources, Government of Nagaland conducted the culmination programme for PMKSY (WDC) batch-3 project 5 & 6 at Ngangpong and Hakchang under Tuensang district. The Watershed Development Fund (WDF) was handed over to the project villages.

Delivering the keynote address, Puthuto Natso, DPO expressed gratitude to the project villages for extended co-operation during the project period. He also asked the villages to judiciously utilities the fund which is handed over under WDF. 

Giving the details of the guidelines, the DPO said Watershed Management Board (WMB) which is formed as per the guidelines of the PMKSY should supervise the asset created by the department during its project period. He shared on the importance of Permaculture and its benefits and urged the villagers to invest on Permaculture program.

Exhorting the gathering, Lipichem, APO asked the villages not to work for subsidy but to create asset which will create its own income. He appreciated the villagers for working hand in hand with the department during the project period.
