The Department of Land Resources, Kiphire conducted a workshop on livelihood opportunities in photography under PMKSY-WDC 2.0 in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM2.0) on June 30. With reporter and photographer of Nagaland Tribune and Hornbill TV, Kitoka as the resource person, the workshop held at Kiphire town drew youths from various watershed villages. 

The resource person while sharing on the input and technical aspects of photography, said that it is booming industry and one can make living out of photography.  “One should have good rapport and trust of a customer if we want to shine,” he emphasised. 

Adding, photography as one of the art, he said, “taking up photography helps ease the tension and makes you happy when u see your work display in some homes and shops.” 

Earlier, sharing the objective of the programme, DPO Land Resources, Lipichem said the programme aims to give skills to the youths to learn to capture the water bodies so as to create awareness on water. Very soon the department will organise competition of the skills taught amongst the participants on water bodies, like spring, traditional pond and tell stories on this so that the forgotten common property is restored, the DPO informed. Apart from this, he added that there are ample opportunity to make living for taking up this skills.
