Rev Ayang addresses the gathering during the 39th Youth Fellowship Ao Council NCRC Convention on January 11 held at Ao Christian Revival Church (ACRC), Dimapur.
Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): The 39th Youth Fellowship Ao Council NCRC Convention concluded on January 11 at the Ao Christian Revival Church (ACRC), Dimapur, after a four-day programme that began on January 8.
Held under the theme “Tanela Temeshi asen mezüng senmang” (Ephesians 1:14), the convention witnessed the participation of around 200 youth delegates from Ao Revival Churches under the Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC).
The concluding evening service featured a sermon by Rev Ayang, missionary to the Himalayan Region, who spoke on “Ochi nungjajang” (Walk in Truth) based on John 16:13. He exhorted the youth to live lives grounded in spiritual honesty and obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Emphasising that the Holy Spirit sets the divine standard for life while human actions reveal one’s true spiritual condition, Rev Ayang illustrated his message by stating that “the Holy Spirit is the question paper and the flesh is the answer paper.” He further reminded the congregation that the human body does not belong to oneself but has been redeemed at a great cost, referring to the nail marks of Christ as the price paid through His sacrifice.
Highlighting the mission of the Church, he warned that a church which does not actively seek the lost risks losing its purpose. He encouraged believers to move beyond comfort and tradition and engage with those who are spiritually distant, stressing that walking in truth requires aligning one’s life, conduct and service with God’s will rather than mere outward expressions of faith.
The service concluded with prayers of dedication, calling upon the youth to walk in truth, integrity and mission-minded service as they returned to their respective churches and communities.
Earlier in the programme, the session was led by Longmatula, while Revival Kentener Telok, Dimapur, presented a song item. Closing remarks were delivered by Wati Longkumer, convener of the Convention Planning Committee, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Wapangrenba, executive chairman of Youth Fellowship Ao Council NCRC.
Among the speakers during the convention was Rev Dr Imchayanger, senior pastor of Ao Christian Revival Church, Dimapur, who spoke on the theme of the convention. A dialogue session on “Inception and Doctrines of NCRC” was conducted by Toshi Imchen, pastor of NCRC Ao Kohima, with Mayangchaba Ao, assistant pastor of Revival Church Mokokchung Town, moderating the session.
