Longleng, April 1 (MExN): The 10th edition of the Yachem Students’ Union (YSU) Football Tournament 2026 commenced at the Local Ground, Yachem, on Wednesday, with Junior Engineer, DRDA Longleng, Lipok Pongen as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Pongen appreciated the YSU for organising the tournament and urged the organisers to carry it forward more effectively in the future. He also encouraged players and the student fraternity to maintain discipline and strive for excellence in life.
Earlier, Yachem Village Council chairman (designate) O Yanger Phom delivered a brief address.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Manngai H Phom, Assistant Education Secretary, YSU, while YSU president P Chingnyüongshem delivered the welcome address.
The tournament will continue till April 3.
