Nagaland’s Zulanbemo Y Odyuo has been crowned Mr Teen India – Model of the Year 2026 at the national pageant held in Pune, Maharashtra, from September 28 to October 1.

Organised by Global Model India, a Government of India-registered organisation, the pageant brought together 24 contestants from different states. The four-day competition featured rounds including Personal Interview, Traditional Round and Grooming Session, culminating in the grand finale on October 1.

Zulanbemo, the reigning 2nd Runner Up of Global Mr Teen Nagaland 2026, secured direct entry to represent Nagaland at the national level through his state title.

Reflecting on his win, Zulanbemo said he was “extremely happy and emotional” when his name was announced. He said the title was not only a personal achievement but also a moment of pride for Nagaland.

“This title means responsibility, pride and an opportunity to represent my country on a bigger platform,” he said.

Zulanbemo began his pageantry journey with Mr Tokhü 2023. He later participated in Mr Dimapur 2025, where he placed in the Top 10, before securing the 2nd Runner Up position at Global Mr Teen Nagaland 2026.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Japfii Christian College, Kigwema, while also working with Project Little Hearts, a title-with-a-purpose initiative aimed at spreading love, care and hope among children living in orphanages.

“I believe a title is not just something we receive and carry with us; it also comes with a purpose and a responsibility,” he said, adding that he intends to continue working with children through the initiative.

Following his national title, Zulanbemo is set to represent India at Mr Teen International – Model of the Year in Sri Lanka. The date for the international competition has not yet been fixed.

“Representing India on an international platform is a matter of immense pride for me,” he said, adding that he hopes to showcase the country’s cultural diversity and heritage.

Looking ahead, Zulanbemo said he also hopes to extend his social work towards supporting cancer patients and contributing to nature conservation, subject to resources and opportunities.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Nagaland for their prayers, love and support, and sought their continued encouragement as he begins his international journey.
