Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council, Chumukedima Town Council and East Dimapur Ad-hoc Town Council on Saturday raided 11 brickfields located around Dimapur town to check the irregularities and non-compliance of directives issued by the DMC.
A note stated that basing on complains received from the public that the brick makers are not following the standard size of the brick as specified by the DMC, the joint team consisting of DMC advisors, Er. Vikholie Nienu and S. Heno and CTC advisor, Seyielhouto Keyho and Chairman of East Dimapur Ad-hoc Town Council, Vihoshe Awomi raided the 11 brickfields.
During the raid it was detected that all the brickfields that were raided this morning are not following the standard size of 10”x 5”x 3” as specified by the DMC. In this regard, the joint team has summoned the owners of 11 brickfields to office of DMC on Monday. It may be mentioned that joint team would also be raiding sandbanks to check the quality of the sand. Public may lodge such complain at phone no. 03862-236815.
