Kohima, October 1 (MExN): The 78 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sechü-Zubza, organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the Blood Centre, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.

The camp was organised in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, NHAK, as part of the battalion’s community service and public health outreach initiatives. A total of 11 CRPF personnel voluntarily donated blood during the camp.

During the inaugural session, 78 Bn CRPF Commandant Deven Bhonsle highlighted the humanitarian importance of voluntary blood donation and urged personnel to contribute towards saving lives through such initiatives.

 

Dr Avila Sangtam of NHAK stressed the need for an adequate and stable blood supply and appreciated the battalion’s support towards meeting the blood requirements of the district.

The programme also included a pledge-taking ceremony to reinforce the participants’ commitment to voluntary blood donation and community welfare. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Akhale Vizol Khamo of the Indian Red Cross Society. The initiative reaffirmed the CRPF’s commitment to its motto, “Service and Loyalty,” the release stated.
