Manipur recorded 179 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Sunday during the testing of 2,261 samples.
Among them, 111 are from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and 68 from the local population.
Till date, 1192 CAPF personnel have been infected by the disease in the state. The recovery rate among them was very low as only 247 of them had so far recovered from the disease, the source added. Currently 944 CAPF personnel are being treated at various Covid care facilities across the state. This number was against 977 active cases among the general populace.
Meanwhile, 60 fresh cases of COVID-19 have no recent travel history. The report further showed discharge of 194 cases after they were recovered from the disease on Sunday. Eighteen of the discharged cases are CAPF.
The state has 4569 cases of the disease which include 1921 active cases. The discharged cases rose to 2632.
The recovery rate in the state stands at 57.60%.
