
Kohima | September 20 : The 18th State-level Hindi Diwas was celebrated at the Red Cross Conference Hall Kohima today, jointly organized by the All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union and the Nagaland Bhasha Parishad Kohima. MLA and Chairman of NKVIB and Music Task Force, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire was the chief guest on the occasion while Pollen Tep, Joint Director, School Education graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nicky Kire, while regretting that Nagas were late learners of the national language, said nevertheless we can catch up if the present generation can give their efforts to learn Hindi and make the difference. Lauding the teachers for their constructively contributing to the society, he urged them to continue to maintain sincerity and dedication towards their duties.
Also speaking on the occasion, Pollen Tep, while acknowledging the teachers for their sincere efforts in promoting the Hindi language, urged them to publish books and dictionary in Hindi.
The function was followed by felicitation of HSLC toppers in Hindi subjects where a total of seven students were awarded with cash and citation by the All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union.
