Vanguard Academy and Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) today played out an entertaining 2–2 draw on the 6th day of the ongoing 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Vanguard Academy made a bright start, with Hiti Seb finding the back of the net in the 13th minute to give his side an early lead.
TYO responded strongly, with Toka Achumi scoring in the 17th minute to restore parity and open his team’s account in the ongoing tournament.
The contest remained closely fought, but TYO took the lead in the 24th minute when Achumi completed his brace to make it 2–1.
Vanguard Academy continued to press for an equaliser and were eventually rewarded when Hiti Seb struck again in the second half to complete his brace and level the score at 2–2. Neither side could find a decisive winner in the remaining minutes as the points were shared after an evenly contested encounter.
The draw leaves Vanguard Academy in third place with four points from three matches, having recorded one win, one draw and one defeat. For TYO, the point takes them to one point from three matches, with one draw and two defeats.
At the top of the table, Sechü Zubza FC continue to lead with six points from two matches and a +8 goal difference, while Mez & Co are second, also on six points from two matches, with a +6 goal difference. Both sides have maintained perfect winning records so far.
Nurturing Youngsters FC remain at the bottom with no points from two matches. They have scored five goals and conceded 14.
With teams having played different numbers of matches at this stage, the standings remain fluid. Only Vanguard Academy and TYO have already completed three matches.
Ketouneilhou Khezhie, vice president, Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) was the match patron of the day.
The 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 is organised by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
