1st Kohima District Inter High School Badminton Tournament concludes

The three-day inaugural Kohima District Inter High School Badminton Tournament, organised by the Kohima District Badminton Association (KDBA), concluded on Saturday at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Officers’ Hill, Thegabakha.

Nagaland School Education Advisor Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome attended the closing function as the guest of honour and distributed prizes to the winners.

The programme was chaired by KDBA joint secretary L Likhase Sangtam. The tournament report was presented by KDBA vice-president (Technical) Meguokho Pienyii, while the vote of thanks was delivered by KDBA technical coordinator Rebenthung Ezung.

In the Under-15 girls’ singles, Lolevinu Zhotso of Goraggio Higher Secondary School defeated Menguzenuo Abigail Lhoungu of G Rio Higher Secondary School.

The Under-15 boys’ singles title was won by Thejavor Medoze of Alderville, while Tongchet Amer of Northfield finished runner-up.

Lolevinu Zhotso also won the Under-13 girls’ singles title, defeating Vikuosanuo Mepfhiio of Northfield Higher Secondary School.

In the Under-11 boys’ singles, Arpit of Assam Rifles Public School emerged champion, with Matevio Khrasi of Mezhür Higher Secondary School finishing runner-up.

The Sub-Junior girls’ doubles title went to Kikruvinuo Rutsa and Khriezonuo Linyii of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, while Leom Neangmai and Elvono Kin of Mezhür Higher Secondary School secured the runners-up position.

Lotsuzo Swuro of Living Tree won the Under-13 boys’ singles title, defeating Shihravio Khrasi of Mezhür Higher Secondary School.

In the Sub-Junior boys’ doubles, Khrietsuvi Solo and Kikrupfhetuo of Northfield Higher Secondary School emerged champions, while Lam Goulem Sithlou and Ikrar Khan of Assam Rifles Public School finished runners-up.

The Under-15 boys’ doubles title was claimed by Tongchet Amer and Keneiler Virie of Northfield Higher Secondary School, who defeated Aditya Yadav and Adarsh Yadav of Kendriya Vidyalaya.
