Lehwang felicitates Shiakpong during the opening ceremony on August 4.
Kohima, August 4 (MExN): The 36th August Gold Cup Trophy organised by Sey-Ong Club Tobu got underway on August 4 at Tobu Hq. under Mon District.
Ex - Minister and Vice President COB NPF Nagaland, L Shiakpong Konyak graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Shiakpong thanked the Sey-Ong Club Tobu for organising the trophy and providing a platform for the youth of the area to display their skills, and to develop their career in the field of sports for the last 36 years.
Highlighting the importance of the sports in building discipline, team work and unity among the youth, Shiakpong further urged the young players to make the best use of the tournament to build their career by availing the opportunities provided by the club.
He also appealed the leaders of the area to extend their cooperation and support to the club to promote our youths in the field of Sports.
Earlier, K T Lehwang Konyak, Chairman, Sey-Ong Club Tobu delivered welcome address.
Lehwang acknowledged Nagaland Football Association (NFA) for approving the Tournament to conduct under their aegis and other technical support and guidance, and Nagaland’s Youth Resources & Sports advisor S. Keoshu Yimkhiung, for his kind assistance in providing sports goods for the tournament.
He also thanked MLA Naiba Konyak and Chairman SDPDB Tobu, Nyamnyei Konyak for their support and timely assistance towards the Club.
