Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The 3rd Khiamniungan Sports meet was started on January 14 at ITC Dan, Pangsha with Advisor for Prisons, Printing and Stationary, H Haiying as Special Guest.
In his speech the Advisor appreciated, sports as well as village councils and all concerned for successfully organising the sports meet at the remotest place at International border of India and Myanmar despite problems of road condition, accommodation, communication and many others.
He also lauded all the participating teams, including the two teams of Indian Army, 45th AR and team of Myanmar army.
Such participation shows the sign of peace, friendship and upliftment, he added.
The advisor also called upon the players to maintain the true spirit of games and sports.
Earlier, the welcome speech was delivered by President KSC Er. Elo while a short speech on behalf of KGOA was conveyed by Dr NC Victor, President KTC Ngon. Special songs were also presented by New Pangsha youth and Lathei.
The first match was played in a ground with half side falling in the Myanmar side, informed a DIPR report received here.
