48 wrestlers join open state level trial selection for National Games

An Open State Level Trial Selection- Cum- High Performance Residential Training Camp for free style wrestling, Greco- Roman wrestling and women wrestling as part of preparation for National Games 2027 commenced today at Multi-Purpose Hall Viswema in Kohima district.

The camp was organised by the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) in collaboration with Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Govt of Nagaland.

Er. Tepul Hopovi, President, Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) graced the launching program as the Special Guest.

He shared the importance and values of the traditional games and sports & urged the wrestlers to focus discipline in their pursuit.

NWA president Vivolie Kezo delivered keynote address. NOA Assistant Secretary General Neivikuolie Khatsü also delivered short speech.

NWA Co-opetd Technical Secretary,  Kikhwesul Thokhwe & Wrestling Head Coach, Khelo India of Excellence, Virandra Kumar made technical briefing.

Altogether, 48 wrestlers registered for this 2 month long camp.

The opening programme was chaired by NWA publicity secretary Seyielhouvi Nagi while NWA advisor Dr. Hiabe Zeliang invoked God’s blessings.
