KOHIMA, MARCH 8 (MExN): A verification drive was carried out all over Kohima district from March 6-8 by a Task Force team consisting of District Administration and Police to detect illegal immigrants, Inner Line Permit (ILP) defaulters. During the verification, cases of expired ILP permit and non-possession of ILP permit were detected and accordingly penalties were imposed as per section (2), (3) and (4) of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) 1873, a DIPR report informed. A total of 495 ILP defaulters were detected within Kohima district, out of which 308 were detected from Kohima town area, 59 from Chiephobozou sub-division and 128 from Sechù Zubza subdivision. A total amount of Rs. 2, 15,400 (Two lakh fifteen thousand four hundred) was realized as penalty and has been deposited as Government revenue. The Task Force constituted will be conducting periodic checking for detection of illegal immigrant and ILP defaulters within Kohima district, the DIPR report further informed.
