There are 57, 402 beneficiaries under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) in Nagaland. Out of this 51,752 falls under 60-69 years and 5650 under 80 and above years, according to Annual Administrative Reports 2025-26 of Social Welfare Department, tabled in the 8th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
In this scheme, senior citizens who are BPL and are 60-79 years of age are given a monthly pension of Rs 200 per month. Senior citizens who are BPL and are 80 years of age and above are given a monthly pension of Rs. 500 per month.
State Government also provides Rs 100 per month to each beneficiary as State contribution towards the IGNOAPS.
