A Symbol of Courage: FNR pays tribute to Adinno Phizo

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) on Friday expressed deep sorrow at the passing away of NNC President Adinno Phizo, saying her departure leaves a profound void amid the present situation and reminds people of the fragility of life and the enduring weight of history.

The FNR in its condolence message said the Nagas had lost not only a leader but also a symbol of strength and courage.

Recalling her journey, the forum said Adinno Phizo, at a very young age, chose to walk in the footsteps of her father, AZ Phizo, carrying forward the vision of Naga sovereignty. With resolved conviction, she dedicated her entire life to holding fast to the rights of the Naga people, the FNR said.

Her journey, it added, was marked by hardships, unmatched sacrifices and a steadfast commitment to the cause of her people.

The FNR said her life also places a call upon the Naga people. “In her death, let the Nagas embrace one another across differences,” it said, adding that unity should be forged not by erasing diversity, but by recognising and accepting it within the framework of a common political aspiration.

The forum said her legacy reminds all that reconciliation is incomplete without inclusivity, and that the path forward must be walked together.

The FNR prayed that “the peace which surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) would comfort the Naga people in this moment of grief. It also prayed that she may rest in the eternal home of Jesus Christ, and that her memory would inspire the people to continue the journey toward justice, peace and dignity.
