Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): The Music Ministry of the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) concluded a two-week intensive Music Training Programme at Impur on May 31, aimed at strengthening musical and theological foundations among church members.

Held from May 19 to 31, the programme built on the success of a similar initiative conducted in 2025 and continued ABAM’s efforts to equip church members with essential skills for worship and ministry.

The training covered a broad range of subjects, including music history, music theory, ear training, conducting, vocal music, and the relationship between music and theology.

A total of 28 participants representing 16 churches attended the programme, reflecting growing interest among Ao Baptist churches in enhancing their musical foundation for worship and church ministry.

The sessions were led by noted resource persons, including Khrienyühu Dzüvichü, Rev Dr Akok Amer, Pastor of Impur Baptist Church, and Asenla Longchar, Music Coordinator of ABAM. The trainers provided participants with technical instruction as well as theological insights, helping them develop skills to serve more effectively in their respective congregations.

According to ABAM, the training forms part of its ongoing mission to nurture musical talent, deepen the theological understanding of music, and prepare leaders capable of enriching worship and fellowship through music.

The ministry said that by continuing the programme for a second consecutive year, it has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the spiritual and cultural life of the Ao community.

ABAM expressed optimism that participants would apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to improve music ministries in their churches, thereby enriching worship services and fostering stronger fellowship among believers.
