The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Tuesday alleged large scale deletion of voters in Nagaland from electoral rolls as per SIR Draft Roll 2026.

Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Kohima as part of All India Congress Committee (AICC) campaign on “Vote bachao Desh bachao” and “Go Gyanu Go,” NPCC President and Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir stated that Nagaland state is supposed to have a total voters of 13,57,208 as per the form issued to the respective districts.

However, he said, “the election department received only 11,99,456, which means 1,57,752 has been deleted.”

The reason cited included untraceable/absent, permanently shifted, death, already enrolled and others.

He said that the election department is doing another-house to house exercise.

Jamir said that he had also thoroughly discussed with the election department and they are yet to give the final verdict.

He said that the Congress party led by Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have started the nationwide “Vote Bachao Desh Bachao” campaign against alleged electoral fraud and deletion of voters’ names from electoral rolls. Accordingly, AICC observers are campaigning across the country, he said.

Jamir informed that huge rally is going to be held on November 1.

NPCC Working President Khriedi Theunuo said that Congress party has made a movement on the issue of SIR and now, the Election Commission is paying attention and coming forward to see that electoral roll is properly conducted and no eligible voter is left out.

Pranav Shagotra, AICC Observer (Incharge Nagaland), who is currently in Nagaland as part of the campaign, alleged that Gyanesh Kumar involved with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and “what they did across  India, was, they picked up the voter list and cut the vote.”
