ABAM urges church to ‘move’ with mission focus

ABAM Church and Mission Ministry organised a Mission Conference from September 24 to 26 in Impur.

Impur, September 27 (MExN): The ABAM Church and Mission Ministry organised a Mission Conference from September 24 to 26 in Impur, under the theme ‘Let’s Move’ (John 9:4).

In a statement, ABAM emphasised that mission is the heart of the church and that being alive and active is what the church has to offer. It stated that being missional is the will of the Father and the command of Christ.

The statement highlighted that ABAM and local churches have been actively fulfilling the command over the years, adding that the missionaries sent to various nations are a testament to our obedience to God's call. 

A total of 40 missionaries participated in the conference, where sharing their experiences posed one of the key challenges for the attendees. In total, 701 individuals from 119 Churches and four fellowships attended the conference.

The conference speakers and the topics were as follows: Rev Temsü Jamir, Executive Secretary of ABAM – ‘Calling’; Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Swarup, Bishop of Delhi (CNI) – ‘Be Ready’; and Rev Yapang Mollier, Secretary of the Church and Mission Ministry of ABAM – ‘Let's Move.’

Additionally, the conference included a workshop where four different topics were covered by various resource persons. The topics discussed in the workshop were: ‘Becoming a Missional Church’ by C. Bendangmeren Jamir, Mission Director of Churchuyimlang Baptist Church; ‘Member Care’ by Rev. Onenlemla, Missionary IM; ‘Networking’ by Dr Moanükshi, Director of South East Asia East West Ministries International; and ‘Sustainable Mission’ by Lipokwati, Missionary.
