Jorhat, October 31 (MExN): UCO Bank Zonal Office at Jorhar observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 from October 26 to November 1, in line with guidelines of the Central Vigilance Commission, a bank statement said on Saturday.
The theme this year was "Probity for Prosperity", aimed at promoting integrity, transparency and accountability and building a corruption-free society. The event coincides with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
As part of the observance, the bank organised a Vigilance Awareness cum Cyber Security Session at Ridley College of Optometry on October 14, a Vigilance Essay Writing Competition at Carmel School, Digboi on October 27, and awareness sessions for the public and students at Bordubi, Balipara, Dhemaji, Lanka, North Lakhimpur, Jengrai and Tezpur.
A walkathon was held in Jorhat town on October 31 to sensitise citizens towards vigilance and cyber security. Zonal Head Narendra Pratap Singh, Deputy Zonal Head Hasan Ejaz Hashmi and other officials, along with zonal office and branch staff, were present on the occasion.
