Kohima, June 10 (MExN): Preparations for Census 2027 are gathering pace across Nagaland, with training programmes for enumerators and supervisors underway in several districts to equip field personnel with the skills required for the upcoming House Listing Operation and Population Enumeration.
According to the State DIPR, district administrations have launched phased training programmes focusing on census concepts, data collection procedures, field protocols and the importance of accurate and reliable data gathering.
Across the districts, officials emphasised the importance of accuracy, accountability and dedication in carrying out one of the country's largest data-gathering exercises, noting that the data collected would play a crucial role in policy formulation and development planning.
Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, visited the ongoing training programmes at the DC Office Complex on June 10 and interacted with enumerators and supervisors.
Describing participation in the census as a historic responsibility, he urged personnel to carry out their duties with dedication and accuracy, noting that census data would play a crucial role in policy formulation and development planning.
The DC assured the trainees of full support throughout the operation, emphasizing that although officers may work individually in assigned areas, they are backed by supervisors, charge officers, administrative officials, and the Directorate of Census Operations.
Chümoukedima: The first phase of training for enumerators and supervisors began at the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Chümoukedima on June 10, with attendance of around 150 participants from various subdivisions .

Officials highlighted the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and adherence to census guidelines while carrying out field operations.
The training programme will continue in phases to cover all designated census personnel across the district in preparation for the forthcoming Census 2027 operations.
Kiphire: The first phase of training commenced at the DPDB Conference Hall, Kiphire, on June 10 and will continue until June 12. Additional Deputy Commissioner Longdiba L Sangtam emphasised the importance of the census exercise and urged enumerators and supervisors to discharge their responsibilities sincerely.

Meanwhile charge officers of Kiphire, Longmatra and Amahator blocks also addressed the participants about the relevant aspects of the training.
Hotingkiu, Daniel Sechopi, Akuto and Asemong are the Field Trainers in the training.
Tuensang: Training for enumerators and supervisors from Ngoungchung and Sangsangyu circles was held at the DC's Conference Hall, Tuensang on June 10.

Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa stressed the significance of Census 2027 and encouraged personnel to work diligently despite challenges encountered during data collection. The district plans to conduct eight training batches covering 347 enumerators and supervisors.
Dimapur: Meanwhile, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, Dimapur, has notified that Phase-I training for supervisors and enumerators will be conducted at Livingstone Foundation College of Nursing from June 11 to 13, followed by Phase-II from June 15 to 17. Attendance has been made mandatory for all personnel deputed for census duties.
