ADC Mangkolemba orders offices to remain open on Nov 5

Mangkolemba, November 4 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mangkolemba, Moakumzuk Tzudir, has directed all government offices, educational institutions, banking services, and commercial establishments to remain open and function normally on November 5, rejecting a call by the CSO Mangkolemba for a general shutdown.

In an order dated November 4, the ADC said the CSO Mangkolemba, through its letter dated November 3 had intimated the office of a public meeting and general shutdown in Mangkolemba Town from 9:00 am on November 5, including the closure of business establishments, schools, and offices during the meeting.

However, the ADC said the CSO had not sought or obtained any prior written permission from the competent authority, and its call for shutting down business establishments, schools and offices was “unauthorized and without any legal standing.”

“Therefore, all government offices, educational institutions, banking services, and commercial establishments are directed to remain open and function normally,” the order stated.

It cautioned of strict action, the ADC said any individual, group or organization found enforcing a forced closure, obstructing public movement or violating the order would face "strict legal action under the relevant provisions of the law.”
