ADIP and RVY beneficiaries receive free assistive aids in Tseminyu

Tseminyu, June 4 (MExN): Free assistive aids and devices were distributed to registered Divyangjan and senior citizens from 11 villages in Tseminyu district under the Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) Scheme and the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) on June 4.

The distribution programme was organised by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) in collaboration with AASRA Dimapur, the Department of Social Welfare and the District Administration, Tseminyu, at the Tseminyu Town Hall.

Beneficiaries from Tseminyu Town, Tseminyu South Village, Zisunyu, Phenda, Terogvunyu, Kashanyu, Hebenji, New Terogvunyu, Phenwhenyu, Phentejon Bamboo Model Village and Guju received assistive devices under the schemes.

The programme was chaired by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Obed Magh.

During the event, the Manager of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India provided a brief overview of the ADIP and RVY schemes, highlighting their objectives and benefits for persons with disabilities and senior citizens.

Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, addressed the gathering and distributed the assistive devices to the beneficiaries.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at improving mobility, accessibility and the overall quality of life of persons with disabilities and elderly citizens through the provision of essential assistive aids and appliances.
